May! I feel like this is a month I don't much think about. No birthdays, no big events usually. There is Mother's Day coming up, though. This year one of my closest friends from high school is getting married later into the month (at the same place our party will be held in June!), and I'm sad Kyle and I won't be able to attend. This May we've got another Army company party to attend (last year Kyle rode a mechanical bull). Kyle has a four day weekend later on so we were thinking of taking a two-day trip to San Antonio. RSVPs for the wedding are "due" on the 12th, so we'll get a final count of how many will be attending, and be able to figure out how much food and how many of everything we will need, really. One month to go! I am heading in to Killeen on Friday for a dress fitting! And we've got a couple surprises confirmed for wedding guests-it should be fun! My biology class is fine; a little bit basic and we spent way too much time discussing the scientific method the first week, but oh well. I also got the meningitis shot I needed to be able to register for classes, so I have a schedule started for the fall!

Also- The other day Darwin climbed all the way to the top of a tree. The picture is of her part way up, surveying her territory. I was most impressed that she managed to get down herself as well.

Hello April

What's happening this month?

Two months until the wedding! My dress arrived back at home in PA, so I'll have to figure out a time to go up for a fitting. I can't wait to see it! Other wedding things: skyping with our photographer Jana to discuss plans, finding accessories, getting the guys in the loop, planning the day and the week leading up to Friday, planning hair & makeup, figuring out more logistics for the ceremony! Probably some other stuff, too. Two months!

Kyle and I started dating in April 2008; this year the 16th marks four years together! and 4-5 years of friendship before that. It's not a huge deal, especially now that we have a marriage anniversary to celebrate, but I like to make note of it every year. :)

Easter. I have honestly been asking if it is Easter yet for the last three weeks, as I have no idea when it actually is and some kids down the street were definitely hunting for eggs in their front yard so they confused me. I guess it shows how big a deal Easter is for me...Time to ask Kyle a bunch of questions about Jesus and not really get it.

Bones is back! Today actually. Do I watch Bones or The Voice? Tricky...

Filling out papers for my first field internship starting this fall at Baylor! The first year is more generalist practice, and second is specific to what area of social work you want to go into. I'm likely heading towards physical/mental health, particularly with kids and/or military families.

My big sister (sewer) is 25 tomorrow! A whole quarter century. She lives in Doha, Qatar, but I'll see her in June for wedding times!

I'm going to make these, baked oatmeal.

It is March!

I love the Instagram app on my iphone (love love love), and this month I will participating in the March photo a day "challenge" via Fat Mum Slim. It should be fun. I will either post them here week to week, or all at the end of the month. Or you can follow me on Instagram/twitter @mrssmcp for daily updates. I will also post them on my facebook page.

What else this month?

Oh, a little thing called our first anniversary is next Wednesday! woohoo! IHOP here we come. That is the extent of our plans so far.

I may be hearing some more grad school news, and making some decisions.

THREE months until the wedding. Three months. Three, guys.

I will be sending out invitations!

I'd like to take a trip to Austin, to check out UT's MSW program and meet with some folks.

Pi Day. A great day in 9th grade geometry class. I might have to make a pie this year...

It is probably going to turn into summer here. I have a horrible feeling. Too soon, Texas. I am not ready.

More dishes to try:

I would also like to try a Shamrock Shake, as I have never had one before, and it seems this time of year they are a "thing."

And there was talk of going to Austin for St. Patrick's Day. It is on a Saturday...And a great holiday for maybe wearing my military ball shoes :)

I am going a little bit crazy being at home all day during the week, no vehicle to even run out for groceries or anything, nobody to talk to but the kittens. And they're cute but not very chatty. I'm not one who is good at not being busy for long, and I'm really feeling it now. I'm trying to appreciate free time though, before work and school starts up. Luckily, Kyle got his motorcycle license figured out the other day, and parts are on the way to attach to his bike so that he can carry things he needs to get back and forth to the base.

D was a bit pukey this morning, so there may be a trip to the vet in the future. I'll keep an eye on her...
