Dreams

Posted on: Monday, April 8, 2013

I dream of being a good mom.
I dream of baby Apollo and his siblings.
I dream of staying married forever.
I dream of travel.
I dream of returning to Finland.
I dream of camping and time outdoors.
I dream of working at a great organization, doing important things, helping the world.
I dream of a nice, cozy house. With a yard, lots of windows, in a safe neighborhood.
I dream of a cute puppy.
I dream of friends' weddings. And their babies. And living in a town with friends once again.
I dream of graduating and passing the licensing exam.
I dream of moving back North.
I dream of a great internship next year.
I dream of wanting less and living simple.
I dream of being truly happy.

My dreams are pretty standard, but I think they're the hardest and most complex to actually achieve. Life is funny.

What the Year Will Bring

Posted on: Monday, January 7, 2013

At first glance this year appears to be one, the first in many, with no big events, changes or plans. And while that may be true, this is also the year where Kyle and I will know a lot more about our future- where we will be moving to after I graduate, when we can have kiddos(!!)...big things like that. Kyle's contract with the military is up December 2013, and we are looking at his reenlistment possibilities, as well as non-military options. I'm not sure when we will know (it's sounding like sooner rather than later), but it is exciting that this is the year that will give us a better picture of what our future will look like. :) Always good for a planner like me. I'm excited to see where this year will take us, even if it doesn't take us there until next year or the years that follow!

Also this year:
- finishing up first year of grad school and starting the second
- 2 year anniversary!
- Kyle and I both turn 25
- possible probable deployment to Afghanistan :(
- Kittens turn 2 years old
- possible trip to Boston

Sorry

Posted on: Tuesday, November 6, 2012

I'm not sorry. Aside from this being an insane $69 and the teeny little hiccup of a fact that I have no children, neither in the works nor out of womb, I want this so bad for future kiddo.
Ah well. When the time comes I'm sure I can make my own awkward cat sweatshirt. What is Pinterest for, after all?

Dreaming of Baby

Posted on: Tuesday, May 15, 2012

I can't help it. I know I know I know. I know. Oh I know. I've just wanted to be a mom since forever (and had a running list of baby names in my head, too), and things are almost aligned so that that can happen. It doesn't help that babies and kids not in short supply in the Army community (or blogging world, it seems). And that one of my best friends is equally anticipating baby time (but also locked into grad school for the next two years). And then Pinterest makes the day dreaming so easy, so so easy. So, I think about it from time to time. My Klout for some reason says I am influential about babies (an achievement, I guess? considering I do not have one). And one night apparently I was talking in my sleep, something about a baby. Nothing wrong with that. My family used to say growing up that I was for sure going to get married and have maybe seven children (We only want three, I think). Anyway, timing is not quite right yet (grad school), but I am dreaming of the future, filled with little ones and no sleep and spit up cute things all over. A girl can dream (and talk out loud in her sleep), can't she?

{I think I would have love love loved this little mouse house idea when I was little. So clever.}
